About Us
There is no shortage of furniture building content online. Most of it skips the hard parts — the dry-fit that reveals a twisted board, the drawer slide that needs shimming, the finish that looks great in a stock photo but yellows in six months. Woodwork Workshop does not skip those parts.
This site covers furniture building and cabinet making from first cut to final finish. Every tutorial includes measured drawings, cut lists, hardware specs, and step-by-step photos taken in the shop — not rendered in software. When we say a project takes a weekend, we mean a real weekend, not a theoretical one.
We focus on builds you can complete with a well-equipped home shop: dining tables, bookshelves, nightstands, bathroom vanities, kitchen cabinets, and entertainment centers. Each plan specifies the tools required, and we offer alternative approaches when a ,000 tool is not in the budget.
Our cabinet-making guides walk through face frames, box construction, door styles, and hardware installation with the kind of detail that matters when you are staring at a stack of plywood and a deadline. We cover frameless and face-frame construction, overlay and inset doors, and the joinery that holds it all together.
Every technique on this site has been tested in the shop. We do not publish anything we have not built, measured, and finished ourselves. AI can summarize furniture building — it cannot tell you that your pocket screws will blow out in 3/4-inch poplar if you do not adjust the depth collar, or that your table top needs more room for seasonal movement than you think.
That is the kind of detail you get here. Tested, built, documented.
