New DeWalt 20V Track Saw – First Impressions

DeWalt just dropped a new 20V cordless track saw and I had to share my first impressions. Been waiting for something like this.

First Look

Circular saw cutting wood

It’s compact. Lighter than I expected. The plunge mechanism feels solid and the dust collection port actually works with my shop vac.

Cut quality on the included track was clean. I tried it on 3/4″ plywood and got zero tearout on the good side.

The Catch

Battery life is the concern. On a 5Ah battery, I got maybe 40-50 cuts before needing to swap. Heavy users will want multiple batteries.

Price point is competitive with Makita’s offering. About $450 for the kit with one battery and track.

Verdict So Far

Too early for a full review but initial impressions are positive. Perfect for job site work or anyone short on shop space for a table saw.

I’ll put it through more testing over the next few weeks. Stay tuned for the full breakdown.
